Our story
Why we started
It started with a simple question: what are the hours, and what's on the menu? In Kitimat that was surprisingly hard to answer. Some restaurants had an old website, some had a Facebook page that hadn't been touched in a while, and some had nothing online at all.
Once we started fixing that for restaurants, it was clear the same problem applied to almost every business in town. Local business in Kitimat is having a tough time right now, and being easy to find makes a real difference. So we opened Kitimat Local to every local business, service and organization, and made it free.

Kitimat Local is built and run by Spruce Tree Media, a marketing and media company based right here in Kitimat since 2018. Helping local businesses get noticed is what we do every day. This directory is our way of doing that for the whole town, not just our clients.
Spruce Tree Media covers the cost of running the site, so listings are free for every local business. Down the road we may offer paid advertising to local businesses who want a little extra visibility, but a listing will always be free.
